SERDANG, 6 Nov – The careers that her parents are involved in have triggered Wan Nur Adeeba Ramlan’s interest in science and thus, she pursued her studies in the relevant field at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) until she was conferred with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biochemistry.

Her father, Datuk Dr. Ramlan Abdul Aziz, was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of the National Sports Institute (ISN) and is currently the director of the Anti-Doping Agency of Malaysia (Adamas) while her mother, Datin Dr. Nasibah Mohamad Ali, is a medical doctor at UPM University Health Center (PKU). Wan Nur Adeeba, 23, said that her parents’ careers have sparked her interest in science, particularly in biochemistry.

"Both of them are my source of inspiration and strong motivators in my studies," she said at UPM’s 41st Convocation Ceremony held here. She added that she was comfortable completing her bachelor of science programme at UPM especially since her mother also works at the same university.

After her success in completing a bachelor's degree in science with honours, Wan Nur Adeeba is now planning to continue her studies at the master level. - UPM
