Three UPM lecturers receive recognition as Malaysia's Top Research Scientists 2022

KUALA LUMPUR, September 20 - Three Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) lecturers have received awards and recognition as Top Research Scientists Malaysia (TRSM) 2022 by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM).

This recognition is given to Malaysian research scientists who have at least ten years of cumulative contributions in the science, technology, innovation and economy (STIE) sectors, aiming to identify and recognise outstanding local research scientists.

The TRSM 2022 from UPM consisted of Professor Ts Dr. Hidayah Arifin, Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences (FBSB), Professor Dr. Alyani Ismail, Faculty of Engineering (FK) and Professor Dr. Lim Hong Ngee, Faculty of Science (FS).

 

Professor Ts. Dr. Hidayah Arifin, FBSB, UPM, said the recognition of TRSM 2022 was given to her in recognition of her expertise in the field of Bioprocess Engineering, which contributes to the excellence and development of research in biological, agricultural and environmental sciences.

 

"I feel grateful and happy for this recognition. Hopefully, this recognition will motivate and inspire researchers and students to continue striving and be active in STIE research," she said.

 

The ASM Fellow Award and TRSM Recognition Ceremony 2022 was completed by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba. – UPM
