SERDANG, June 4 – UPM International Student Association (UPMISA) organized an international programme, TEDx Universiti Putra Malaysia, to enable UPM students to present their views and ideas.
The programme, according to UPM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International), Prof. Datuk Dr. Mad Nasir Shamsudin, gave students the opportunities to be involved in an activity of international level besides enhancing their network with foreign students.
“Participants, regardless of their background, attended TEDx Universiti Putra Malaysia to assist and motivate the society, organizations and individuals by sharing their experience and this, indirectly, opened the door for UPM students to interact with others,” he said.
Programme Coordinator, Maymouna Yousif said TEDx Universiti Putra Malaysia, with the theme, Breaking Barriers, provided an opportune platform of UPM to be the host in terms of worldwide publicity and visibility.
“TEDx Universiti Putra Malaysia was attended by participants coming from various backgrounds, comprising undergraduates, postgraduates, speakers, coaches as well as local and foreign practitioners,” he added.
Prof. Mushtak Alatabi, Yusintha Zemira, Assoc. Prof. Christophe Wairt, Dr. Mahaletchumy Arujanan, Dr. Neela Mehan M, Ester Law, Matthias Gelber, Ariffin Marzuki Mokhtar, Getrude Johnson Navis, Jacky Cheng and Rami Alafandin were among the speakers. - UPM
