The program, in conjunction with the Celebration for Four Decades of Kolej Kelima, aimed to celebrate the orphans and poor by supplying new clothing from Tesco Extra Hypermarket, Puchong as part of their Aidilfitri preparations.

The project received support from TESCO Stores (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd as the collaborating partner through cooperation with the Information and Communication Development Center, UPM that helped contribute to orphans and the poor who are less fortunate.

The program can increase the ophans’ self-confidence and financial assistance along with care and love they needed while giving them early exposure to the atmosphere of university life.

According to the principal of Kolej Kelima, Prof. Dr. Sidek Abdul Aziz, the program can build the basis of student-community relationship that was involved.

"This project infuses the spirit of volunteerism in students while providing them the platform to enhance their leadership and volunteerism skills.

"Therefore, students can make use of the platform and opportunity to engage in the field of volunteerism," he said.

Contributions earned for the Baju Raya project were initiated through donations within the campus by student volunteers of Kolej Kelima, UPM.

With the tagline "right volunteer for the right job", K5 volunteers from various fields of study prove that UPM has many volunteers who are able to perform high-impact community service.
