CDM, WAZAN UPM launch donations to help B40 group

SERDANG, Oct 12- Community Digital (M) Sdn Bhd (CDM) is offering a joint venture with the Centre for Management of Waqf, Zakat and Endowment (WAZAN), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), to channel cash contributions to the B40 group.

 

The joint venture was presented through an offer letter mutually agreed by WAZAN and UPM to the Vice-Chancellor of UPM, Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, during the Honorary Visit of CDM Delegates at the UPM’s Vice-Chancellor Office last Thursday.

 

Among topics discussed in the visit was the readiness of CDM to contribute profit gained through the purchase of products sold by CDM to WAZAN.

Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan said UPM is very pleased and welcomed the joint venture that would benefit UPM students needing help.

“This joint venture can also provide opportunities to entrepreneurs among UPM students and increase their marketability in the field of entrepreneurship,” he said.

CDM is a company that provides business opportunities to entrepreneurs through community networks using the latest systems and technologies. This joint venture would encourage consumers of CDM products, especially community entrepreneurs under CDM.

 

CDM Founder, Rusdie Ganning, said CDM will contribute to WAZAN UPM to help those who need profit from their selling their products.

“We will contribute RM3.50 for each product of Kopi Gen2, White Coffee, Gen2 Q10, Trace Mineral, Magnesium & Jus Delima sold; RM1 by consumers and RM2.50 by the company or entrepreneur selling the product,” he said.

 

CDM Chairman, Dato Malek Noor, said CDM is now making efforts to encourage the community, especially those in the digital community to contribute through the purchase of its products, which opens up an avenue for donation.

He said the CDM and WAZAN UPM’s joint venture is for three years, starting from the date the offer letter is signed.

Director of WAZAN UPM, Dr. Razali Othman, said the donations collected will be channelled to the UPM Care Fund @WAZAN to help the needy among the B40 community.

Also present at the visit were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu; Director, UPM Corporate Strategy and Communications Office, Prof. Dr. Daud Ahmad Israf Ali; and WAZAN officers, Nuruliman Ibrahim and Mohd Rizal Helmi A Razak.

Also present were CDM Chief Executive Officer, Mohamad Nizam Abdul Samar Zammi; CDM Business Development Director, Rumawi Kasolan Nizam and CDM Admin, Suzana Othman.
