SERDANG, April 14 – Happiness was evident on the faces of 20 B40 Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) students from the Persons with Disabilities (OKU) category upon receiving duit raya (Raya money) contribution from the Student Affairs Division (BHEP) UPM.

“I am grateful and happy to receive duit raya contributions. Thank you, UPM,” said Nur Hazira Rusli, who is visually impaired.

Nur Hazira, a Bachelor of Arts in Malay Language and Linguistics, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), UPM, received duit raya contribution presented by UPM Vice Chancellor, Dato' Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman at the ‘Majlis Iftar Mega Putra 3.0’ that took place yesterday.

She said the contribution will be used to buy new Raya clothes since she hasn’t bought any yet, and Aidilfitri is fast approaching.

Meanwhile, Mas Nur Jannah Maskop, a Bachelor of Communication student from FBMK UPM who is also physically challenged expressed the same intention, which is to buy Raya clothes with the duit raya contribution received.

“Besides that, I would also like to buy dodol (a sweet toffee-like confection) to enliven the Raya atmosphere with my family in Muar, Johor. The duit raya contribution that UPM gave is extremely helpful,” she said. -UPM
