The Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is pleased to organize the 5th Fundamental Science Congress 2013 (FSC 2013). This event has been organized annually since the year 2009. This regional congress aims to bring together academicians, researchers and scientists for inculcating knowledge sharing amongst young researchers in fundamental and applied sciences related to the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics besides informal exchange of ideas amongst peers and pioneers.
FSC 2013 serves as a unique platform to foray research findings, novel techniques, ideas, views and commentaries for the benefit of the scientific community (postgraduates, research scientists and academicians) at large.
Objectives
to discuss and share the most recent discoveries in fundamental science
to serve as a platform for knowledge and information interchange between the experts from industrial and academic sectors
to encourage discussion of new ideas and ongoing fundamental researches in the field of sciences
to identify potential collaboration among the participants

UPM is offering full time programmes to qualified candidates with STPM holder/equivalent, Matriculation/Foundation, Diploma holder/equivalent qualifications as UPM's Bachelor Degree entry requirement. In the meantime, SPM holder/equivalent qualification will be offered to Diploma programmes and Foundation for Agriculture Sciences.
UPM offers more than 400 field of studies as an effort to transform Malaysia into a higher education excellence hub at the regional and international level. UPM always strives to produce well-balanced students from the aspects of academics and ethics. UPM at this time possesses the highest percentage of academic staff with PhD holders compared to other public institutions in Malaysia.

Non-academic staff amount to 888 under the Management and Professional services, and 3,498 under the Support services.
Your relationship with the UPM community does not end upon graduation. In fact, many members of the UPM Alumni have been appointed as ambassadors at large for their contributions in their fields, and they have left a big impact on society and the nation and enhanced the university’s reputation at the international level.
Since 1971, the UPM Alumni list has grown to an impressive list of 145,000 people - not only in Malaysia, but from all over the world, including Australia, Iran, France, Myanmar and Saudi Arabia.
