UPM Wins Grand Prize of the National Intellectual Property Management

KUALA LUMPUR - Universiti Putra Malaysia beat nine other competitors to earn a prize for Best Intellectual Property Management for organizational categories and bags RM30,000 cash prize, trophy, trophy and certificate of appreciation.

The award was presented by Datuk Hasan Malek, Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism in the Dewan Tun Abdul Razak, Bank Rakyat Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur.

National Intellectual Property Award (AHIN) was introduced in 2006 in conjunction with the National Intellectual Property Day. AHIN is recognition of the inventor / creator of the intellectual property of their contribution in social and economic development of the country.



A total of 388 entries were received for the awards this year, which an increase in participation from students at school.

Meanwhile, the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia won the first prize category of Patents; My Haiz Sdn Bhd (the category of Trade Marks and Geographical Indications); Universiti Teknologi Mara (Industrial Design category); Melvin Wong Huang (categories of rights); SMK Seri Kenangan, Johor won the Young Inventor Intellectual Property category.

All of them take home a cash prize, trophy or WIPO medal and certificate of appreciation.

Second and third place winners for each of the five categories also receive a cash prize and a certificate of participation.



National Intellectual Property Award is organized by the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO), an agency under the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism.

A total of six (6) categories of the award of Organizations (Best Intellectual Property Management), Patents, Marks merchandise and Geographical Indications, Industrial Designs, Copyright and Intellectual Property Young Inventor.
