Serdang, April 16 - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has achieved a five-star rating for its outstanding provision of website and portal by the Malaysia Government Portals and Websites Assessment (MGPWA) 2013.
The latest rating was stated in a letter of appreciation by Director General Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Dato' Prof. Ir. Dr. Morshidi Sirat recently.
Of 20 other public higher education institutions, UPM shared the third place with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) with both scored 83. Besides retaining third, UPM also managed to emulate its last year’s feat by maintaining the five-star rating.
The first place was won by Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) with a score of 88, while the second place was nabbed by Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTEM) with a score of 86.
A total of eight universities achieved the five-star rating and the remaining 12 achieved four. The assessment in the rating covered the content, usability, security, and bonuses that were available in the websites and portals.
MGPWA 2013 was conducted by the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), entering its eighth year and its organization was aimed to support government agencies in promoting online services and better service delivery to the people through websites and portals.
