KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 24 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has received an educational sponsorship from AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad to assist financially-strapped bright students to obtain their Bachelor’s Degree.
Present at an event of signing of an agreement of study sponsorship were UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris, Deputy Vice-Chancellor( Student Affairs and Alumni) of Universiti Malaya (UM), Prof. Datuk Dr. Rohana Yusof and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Adnan Hussein.
Chairman of AEON Credit Services (M) Sdn. Bhd., Dato’ Abdullah Yusof said the selection of students will be done by the respective universities to ensure that only those qualified will get the sponsorship.
“We have set aside an allocation of RM800,000 for this programme and 20 students from each university will be receiving about RM40,000 in sponsorship.
“This educational sponsorship is only given to students taking up Accountancy, Economics, Business Administration, Finance and Banking, Actuarial Science, Law and Information Technology or Computer Science courses,”” he said. - UPM
