UPM organises Sustainable Governance Seminar to raise awareness of administrative practices

SERDANG, June 2 - A Sustainable Governance Seminar programme has been organised by the Registrar's Office in collaboration with the Internal Audit Division, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), to raise awareness among university officers on the importance of good governance practices.

UPM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Relations), Prof. Ir. Dr. B.T. Hang Tuah Baharudin, said the university should be seen as an institution that applies every principle of good governance, namely integrity, accountability, stewardship and transparency, to instil confidence in all stakeholders in the effectiveness, accountability, capability and efficiency of the University.

"I am confident that to continue the legacy of university excellence as a Tower of Knowledge, the governance and management aspects must continue to be upheld as the main pillars of UPM administration, and with the commitment of the UPM community, we can achieve success through the right direction and strategy setting," he said.

Prof. Ir. Dr. B.T. Hang Tuah, who represented UPM Vice-Chancellor, YH. Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd. Roslan Sulaiman, said the organisation of this programme is in line with the UPM Strategic Plan 2021-2025, Goal 5, which is on Sustainable Governance.

In addition, the Sustainable Governance Seminar was presented by three panel members, namely UPM Audit Committee Chairman, Dato' Dr. Hasan Mad, UPM Registrar, Muhazam Mansor and UPM Legal Advisor (Performing the Functions of Legal Advisor), Muhammad Adil Ahmad Tajuddin.

Also present at the Sustainable Governance Seminar were UPM Audit Committee Chairman, Dato' Dr. Hasan Mad, and the Management Committee members. – UPM
