UPM organises Putra Bakti Hope Soap project to raise awareness on importance of handwashing

SERDANG, July 31 – The Putra Bakti and the Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), in collaboration with the students from FEM3201 Management and Decision Making and Sahabat Masjid UPM, have held the Putra Bakti Hope Soap project to raise awareness on the importance of handwashing for health.

The project is an initiative to bring awareness to the community on personal hygiene, focusing on children as the target group. The first session of the soap-making workshop was held in June 2022 at the Tongkat Ali Emas Room, IBS.

Additionally, 180 bars of soap were produced using mini toys for children donated by the public. Subsequently, the second soap-making session was held in July 2022.

The soap has a mini toy expected to attract children to wash their hands and ensure that their hands are always clean from germs.

Meanwhile, the toys for children were put inside the soap bars as a reward for using them until thin to clean themselves. - UPM
