SERDANG, 1 March – The Tenth College, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), concluded the Lego Robotics Workshop 2023 yesterday. The workshop that began on 20 February educated young participants, especially primary school students, about the world of engineering.
Through this workshop, young participants were able to hone their talents and creativity to think creatively and critically in the technology industry.
The programme director, Muhammad Mustaqim Nurhady, a third-year Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering student, said the workshop received a very encouraging response from parents and participants.
"The workshop organised by the K10 Innovators Club, the Academic Secretariat (ACAEX) of Tenth College Representative Council (MPK), UPM, Session 2022/2023, educated more than 100 young participants between the ages of 7 and 16 about the field of engineering and its relevance in facing the revolution of Industry 5.0.
"We intend to continue this programme in the future, and it may be turned into a weekly programme to further increase the knowledge of young people in the field of engineering," he said.
In addition, this programme has also successfully trained ten facilitators among UPM Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering students to share their knowledge with participants critically and provide solutions to problems regarding electronic systems and computer programming in line with the development of the Internet of Things (IoT).
Among the activities carried out during this workshop was the construction of Line Follower Robots, Obstacle Robots, Tug of War Robots, and Soccer Robots, as well as system programming using the Lego Digital Design and Lego Mindstorm applications.
