UPM organises 1st Research Officers National Symposium (ReONS) 2022 to empower research officers in Malaysia

SERDANG, August 29 - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has organised the 1st Research Officers National Symposium (ReONS) 2022 to empower research officers in Malaysia.

Prof. Dr. Mohd Adzir said the symposium aimed to inspire research officers from research universities in Malaysia as prominent scientists in the future.

"Although these research officers succeeded in the current research ecosystem in the past decade, I believe they need support in empowering them to become well-known scientists.

"ReONS is one of the collective efforts and support to achieve the objective of empowering and inspiring research officers to become well-known scientists," he said.

In addition, ReONS aimed to advance the Malaysian economy based on existing knowledge through intensive research activities.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Research Management Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Prof. Dr. Mohd Adzir Mahdi, officiated ReONS 2022 today at the Mini Auditorium, Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), UPM.

Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) of Universiti Malaya (UM), Prof. Ir. Dr. Shaliza Ibrahim; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Wan Kamal Mujani; Director of the Research Management and Creativity Office of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Prof. Dr. Zainova Lockman; Director of the Institute of Future Energy (IFE) of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Prof. Dr. Arshad Ahmad, and ReONS Chairman, Dr. Norfaryanti Kamarudin.
