UPM launches Sports and Leisure Day and Celebration for 123rd Ranking 2022 Achievement

SERDANG, July 20 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Vice-Chancellor, YH. Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd. Roslan Sulaiman, has attended the launching ceremony of Sports and Leisure Day and Celebration for UPM’s 123rd Ranking 2022 Achievement.

Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd Roslan urged UPM staff and students to embrace the ninth aspiration—to enhance the campus wellness initiative by cultivating a healthy and fit lifestyle.

"The outstanding achievements of UPM athletes in various national and international competitions prove that UPM is a leading IPT that contributes to sports nationally and internationally.

"May the success of these UPM student-athletes inspire excellence in staff-athletes who will compete in the upcoming SUKUM championship and eventually lead to success for the UPM contingent.

The Universiti Putra Malaysia sports and leisure day for staff is held every Wednesday and is organised by the Sports Academy, UPM, to cultivate a healthy and fit lifestyle.

Meanwhile, UPM also celebrated its ranking achievement by securing the 123rd spot in 2022. 

UPM ranked 123rd best in the world and the second-best university in the country through the QS World University Rankings 2023. This is a notable 20-place jump compared to the 143rd position in the previous year.
