UPM holds Suzlee Ibrahim’s 29th Solo Exhibition

SERDANG
-  For the first time, Galeri Serdang of the Faculty of Design and Architecture (FRSB), Universiti Putra Malaysia, recently held “Meditasi”, the 29th Solo Exhibition by Suzlee Ibrahim.

Galeri Serdang Coordinator, Dr. Shureen Faris Abdul Shukor said the exhibition was the first time to have been held at the gallery which served as a platform for the display of art works by outstanding and prominent painters in Malaysia.

“The display of ”Meditasi” is long awaited for by fans of abstract paintings. The communities in UPM and surrounding areas in Serdang could well take a closer look at such paintings,” she said.



Dr. Shureen also said the abstract arts by Suzlee touched on the historical aspect, with the thrust on abstract expressionism.

“What is interesting about this exhibition is the way how Suzlee defines “Meditasi” as a relaxation practice of the mind of all things interesting, burdensome and anxiety in the daily life,” she added.

Meanwhile, the Malaysia Books of Record has proclaimed the exhibition as the Longest Abstract Painting in Art Gallery.



Suzlee Ibrahim, 48, a full-time lecturer at the Faculty of Visual Communication Design, National Arts Culture and Heritage Academy (ASWARA), has, indeed, displayed excellence in her 28 years as a painter.

Her works have been exhibited in more than 20 countries, including the United Kingdom, United States of America, Denmark, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Brazil, Cuba, Spain, Canada, China, Japan, Argentina, Greece, Poland, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Australia, Nepal and Bangladesh. - UPM
