Two UPM lecturers will represent Malaysia at 66th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting

KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 – Two lecturers from the Science Faculty of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Dr. Yap Wing Fen and Dr. Farah Diana Muhammad, have been picked by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia as national young scientists who will represent the country at the 66th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Germany.

ASM President, Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Ahmad Tajuddin Ali said this prestigious event which will be held from June 26 to July 1, provided an exposure for young scientists to get to know each other and build network of collaborations with world’s renowned scientists.

Both Dr. Yap Wing Fen and Dr. Farah Diana are senior lecturers at the Physics Department in the Faculty of Science, UPM.

Meanwhile, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) student who majors in Physics from the same faculty, Muhammad Safwan Zaini, has been chosen to undergo the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) programme which will be held simultaneously in Geneva, Switzerland. – UPM.
