SERDANG, 6 Oct – A pair of siblings fulfilled their late father’s dream by successfully graduating together with a diploma and a degree at the 41st Universiti Putra Malaysia Convocation Ceremony here today.

Nurul Izati Wagimin, 25, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry Science while her sister Nurul Fittri Wagimin, 21, graduated with a Diploma in Forestry. They were feeling very grateful that their father’s dream of seeing them complete university education was fulfilled.

“Sad because I am not able to share this happy moment with my father”, said Nurul Izati in a choked voice regarding her father Wagimin Othman who passed away due to brain hemorrhage.

The older sister, Nurul Izati who received a scholarship from the Public Service Department was willing to use part of her scholarship to help her younger sister Nurul Fittri who was dependent on PTPTN loan to ease the financial burden on their mother, Rubiah Wahab, a housewife.

Nurul Fittri said that as the younger sibling, she has to work harder academically as her older sister Nurul Izati has always been an inspiration in the family and had funded her studies.
