PROF. DATIN PADUKA DR. AINI IDERIS RECEIVES 100th YEAR MEDAL FROM SELANGOR SCOUTS ASSOCIATION OF MALAYSIA

SERDANG, May 6 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris, has been awarded a 100th Year medal of the Selangor Scouts Association of Malaysia from the Selangor Council of Scouts Association.

She received the medal in her capacity as the Yang Di Pertua of UPM District Scouts Council from Selangor Scouts Commissioner, Ishak Mohd Joned, for on-going efforts and activities of Kumpulan Latihan Kelanasiswa UPM District in upholding scouting activities all over the country and at the international level.

The medal was presented to her when she opened a secretariat room for UPM Kumpulan latihan Kelanasiswa at the Fifth College which was attended by 150 participants from Universiti Malaya (UM), Politeknik Shah Alam, International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), Politeknik Port Dickson and Kelana Hulu Langat.

She hoped that support for students’ activities will not go into waste by those who supported the university’s aspiration to produce knowledgeable and competitive graduates at the international level.

"I hope all parties will continue to support the university in instilling elements of volunteerism to UPM students who are future echelon leaders of the country,” she said.

Meanwhile, Scouts Commissioner for Kumpulan latihan Kelanasiswa Malaysia UPM District, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Paramasivam Muthusamy expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Fifth College Principal, Prof. Dr Sidek Abdul Aziz for giving away a secretariat room to UPM KLKM.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Paramasivam who is also the Director of UPM Centre For Curriculum and Student Development, also expressed hopes that more parties such as the Fifth College, will cooperate with UPM KLKM in the future.
