By: Nurul Ezzaty Mohd Azhari

SERDANG, March 24 – Husband and wife, both teachers in secondary schools in Negeri Sembilan, have continued their studies at the master’s level to inspire students to pursue studies at a higher level.

Aida Jusoh, 41, and Mohd Zulhelmi Kadirun, 35, received their scrolls of the Master of Education in Educational Administration at Session 6 of the 45th Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Convocation Ceremony today.

“Our purpose of furthering master’s was to inspire students so that when they see us furthering our studies, they will also work hard like us.

“Teachers will become role models to the students, and this gives the students motivation to succeed like their teachers,” said Zulhemi, who works at SMK Juasseh Kuala Pilah.

Meanwhile, Aida, who serves at SMK Dato Haji Redza, Seremban, said studying while teaching students in the school was not an easy task for her.

“When COVID-19 hits, I feel discouraged because I have never imagined having to teach online, to use Google Meet and others as these are unprecedented challenges to us.

Studying while teaching during the pandemic was not easy, and I am very grateful to my husband for giving me his tremendous support so that I do not give up,” she said.

This couple also believed that where there is a will, there is a way because every difficulty faced now will eventually lead to a sweet ending. – UPM
