Wildlife Research Centre

Main Focus	Conservation of birds, especially pheasants and partridge and animals found in Malaysia. Doctoral research on breeding birds and small animals which are threatened. To make UPM well known as a wildlife research hub in the region. To organize and carry out several development projects such as the UPM sanctuary Model for wildlife Park in the city, UPM’s green campus projects (impact of corridors) and project to treat and train the birds, raptors and release them back into their original habitat. The research will focus on the basic or fundamental research of the selected wildlife biology. This will include the aspect of behaviour, genetics, breeding, health and nutrition. This CoE will also focus on all species of wildlife in their natural habitat.

Ruminant Diseases Research Centre

Main Focus	Ruminants disease with economic interests including damage to the health of ruminants and humans (zoonosis). Pathogenesis diseases and vaccine invention as well as current treatment (and other herbs). Central data reference / research results that have not been explored / up to date as reference by the world community. Research training of local and international graduates to produce expertise in ruminant diseases.
