UPM won three 2017 National Book Awards

KUALA LUMPUR, May 2 - Publisher, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) won two National Book Awards for Industry Book Award category, while Lecturer from the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UPM , Prof. Ir. Dr Mohd Sapuan Salit won the Best International Publications Award, at the National Book Awards Ceremony 2017.

UPM Publisher won the award for Best Luxurious Books written by Muhammad Syafiq John, Chong Leong Mrs. Zulkifli Ishak Salleh Ibrahim Seikh, Sharifah Nur Atikah and Mohamed Zakaria Hussin (Faculty of Forestry) titled “Discovering 100 Birds of UPM.”

The second book titled “Melaka Sketching Through Experience” by Mohd Fairuz Shahidan, Faziawati Abdul Aziz and Mohd Fabian Hasna (Faculty of Design and Architecture) won the category for Best Book lustration.

Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Sapuan Salit swept the Best Foreign Book Publication category titled “Composite Materials: Concurrent Engineering Approach”, Butterworth-Heinemann Publishers (Imprint of Elsevier).

 

 

 

All them received plaques and certificates at a ceremony organized by the National Book Development Foundation held at Seri Pacific Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

The award is held annually to recognize and appreciate local authors and encourage other authors, publishers, editors and book designers across the country - UPM
