SERDANG, August 20 – The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Prof. Datin Paduka Dato’ Dr. Aini Ideris, inaugurated Phase 2 of Kolej Mohamad Rashid (KMR) OnePUTRA Residence.
KMR OnePUTRA Residence, formerly known as Kolej Kediaman Pertama (The First Residence College), underwent the Phase 1 upgrade in January 2016 and was completed in September 2016.
Phase 2 of the upgrading project continued in September 2017 and was completed in January 2019.
Phase 2 of KMR OnePUTRA Residence comprises three room types with a total of 88 units.
During the inauguration, Prof. Datin Paduka Dato’ Dr. Aini congratulated UPM Holdings for successfully completing Phase 2 of KMR.
She said the KMR OnePutra Residence project which targets clients especially from abroad will stimulate development of the UPM accommodation system in the future.
“I hope that the upgrading project of KMR OnePUTRA Residence will be the driving force to the development of UPM accommodation system, particularly on offering comfortable and conducive accommodation to everyone including university staff as well as international and local students, said Prof. Aini.
She added that KMR OnePUTRA Residence has its own advantage compared to other residential colleges because it offers premium grade facilities such as WIFI, laundry service, café, mini market and printing service.
During the event, she also officiated the flag-off ceremony for UPM Holdings car sticker ads to advertise UPM Holdings business on the move.
Also present at the event were Group Chief Executive Officer of UPM Holdings Sdn Bhd, Ir. Khairul Faizi and Chairman of the Board of Directors of UPM Holdings Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Azman Mahmud. - UPM
