UPM to establish training centre for modern ICT finance system


KUALA LUMPUR, 12 March – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Century Software (M) Sdn Bhd are setting up a training centre for government agencies and students of institutions of higher learning who are involved in the current finance app system.

The collaboration between UPM and Censof was contained in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that was signed by UPM Vice Chancellor Prof. Datuk Dr. Mohd Fauzi Ramlan, UPM Bursar Zulkiflee Othman, CENSOF managing director Datuk Samsul Husin as well as CENSOF executive director, Ameer Shaik Mydin, at a ceremony held here on 12 March 2013.

Prof. Datuk Dr. Mohd Fauzi said UPM has become the pioneer in applying the new finance system technology.

“UPM is committed in optimizing ICT usage, among which is the development of an Integrated Staff Claim system (or the e-Claim) and claim facilities via electronic fund transfer as well as the option to remit the claim for knowledge endowment fund contribution,” he said at the MoU signing ceremony.

CENSOF Holdings Berhad managing director Datuk Samsul said CENSOF would cooperate with the government agencies and institutions of higher learning in order to fully utilize the benefit of a data recovery centre infrastructures in UPM.

“CENSOF will offer its technical experts in software design and implementation, software development as well as consultation in finance management. It is vital for the industry and university to join forces in efforts to gain experience as well as sharing ideas and innovation for mutual benefits,” he said.

In addition, CENSOF, now known as CENSOF Holdings Berhad was previously appointed by the Accountant-General Department of Malaysia to manage the SAGA-JANM project starting July 2005 and the usage of this project had extended to UPM. -- UPM
