UPM students generate the highest revenue in Be$MART programme

SERDANG, May 25 - Nine Final Year students of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) won RM300,000 in Private Retirement Scheme Account in a programme, Be$MART, organized by CIMB Foundation.

Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah gave away the prizes.

Group leader, Faizal Azri, said his group, named 'BRILLIANT', managed to generate the highest revenue by selecting established investments that could provide high returns for each investment.

 "Understanding and cooperation between members of the group who dared to take the risk to invest and understanding and knowledge and focus in the classroom are  also important in making an investment decision.

"Since our group comprised of Final Year students, our next plan will be to look for suitable jobs and get involved in the field of investment and finance," he said.

BRILLIANT comprised of students majoring in Bachelor of Accountancy, Edzuan Manan, Ezzatul Fadhilah Rozali, Khadijah Habir, Izzah Zailan, Ezzati Mat Isa, Leni Marlinah, Mastura Mashor, and a Bachelor of Business Administration student, Nur Aqilah Shawarudin who each received RM100.

 

Tengku Amir Shah said adopting an efficient financial strategy was particularly important to avoid bankruptcy.

"Youth development has always been a thing that is focused on, covering the aspect of establishing good understanding and rapport to reach a healthy financial level," he said.

 Be$MART organized by CIMB Foundation is aimed at encouraging young people to  handle money wisely to avoid bankruptcy.

Also present were Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Foundation, Datuk Hamidah Naziadin and UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris.- UPM
