UPM receives visit from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan delegations to discuss collaboration opportunities

SERDANG, May 11 – The Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), has received a courtesy visit from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan’s education delegations to discuss collaboration opportunities with UPM in academic programmes, summer programmes and research. 

The courtesy visit by Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan’s education delegations shared information regarding the management of academic programmes at their universities and had a dialogue about academic programmes, student mobility and summer programmes.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, UPM, Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Khairol Anuar Mohd Ariffin, also gave a presentation accompanied by the Deputy Director of PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA), UPM, Professor Ir. Dr. Hasfalina Che Man and Head of Administration (Academics & International), UPM, Dato’ Hj. Rosdi Wah and the Management of the Engineering Faculty, UPM.

During this visit, the Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan delegations were also taken to the Robotics and Smart Intelligence laboratory headed by the Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Khair Hassan, to see the development of robots and autonomous systems.

Both countries expressed wishes to collaborate with UPM by signing an MoU in the future.

The Faculty of Engineering, UPM, hoped the programme to be a step toward establishing relationships between UPM, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.- UPM
