UPM lecturer wins Leadership Energy Award 2015

KUALA LUMPUR
– A lecturer of Modern Language and Communication Faculty, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vijayaletchumy Subramaniam has won a Leadership Energy Award for his success in creating a tutorial phonic software for dyslexic children that could benefit the society.

The award is an honour from Iclif Leadership and Governance Centre, a body set up under the patronage of Bank Negara Malaysia.

Global Maybank Banking chief, Datuk Amirul Feisal Wan Tahir said award recipients were chosen based on their innovations that could bring about changes to dyslexic children facing learning problems. With the innovations, it was hoped that they could study in a more efficient manner.

Meanwhile, the software featuring the usage of six spelling methods based on Orton-Gillingham Phonogram, could assist dyslexic kids to show off their talents in different aspects. -  UPM
