Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin visits UPM Veterinary Hospital

SERDANG, Feb 26 - Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin visited the Universiti Veterinary Hospital (UVH), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

The arrival of Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin was received by UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dato' Dr. Aini Ideris; UPM Board of Directors Member, Puan Sri Datuk Seri Rohani Abdullah and the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohd Hair Bejo.

Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin visited several parts of the faculty among which were  the Pet Treatment Room, Pet Ward, Diagnostic Unit and Surgical Room, Cat Garden Space, Pharmacy Unit and the Anatomy Museum.

 

Her Royal Highness had shown interest on the medical services provided including the comprehensive and modern medical treatments for the care and treatment of pets and livestock.

Her Royal Highness was also impressed with the professional treatment methods offered which included surgery and critical surgery for chronically ill animals.

 

Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness also visited the four-hectare UPM Equine Centre, which covers two stable buildings that could accommodate 47 horses at any time and has an international standard sand paddock measuring 150 ft x 20 ft, a 160-hectare riding trek on a grazing field and a 30 km riding trek around the farmlands.

The Equine Centre also houses 12 horses from Australia that are suitable to be ridden. - UPM
