Symphony of Echoes ‘50 Years of UPM Glory’ to celebrate UPM Golden Jubilee

SERDANG, Dec 18 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has organised the Symphony of Echoes ‘50 Years of UPM Glory’ (Gema Simfoni ‘50 Tahun UPM Gemilang’) to celebrate and enliven the 50 years of UPM Establishment Golden Jubilee as well as to commemorate its history of fame as an educational institution in this era.

UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, said the programme served as a medium for UPM to express its responsibility to take care of the welfare and betterment of the world in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic through embracing new norms in our daily lives.

He further added that this is in line with the university’s directions based on the UPM Strategic Plan 2021-2025, particularly Strategic Objective 1, 5th Goal: Enhancing Quality of Governance, which focuses on the well-being of UPM staff as one of the performance indicators.

The programme also featured a famous local singer, Francesca Peter, and UPM virtuoso violin, a lecturer at the Department of Music, Faculty of Human Ecology, UPM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Joanne Yeoh Pei Sze.

The Symphony of Echoes ‘50 Years of UPM Glory’ also involved UPM staff, students and alumni as the singers and musicians in the programme.

For 50 years, UPM has been committed to achieving continuous progress and becoming an educational institution of international repute.

Meanwhile, UPM organised the Golden Jubilee Celebration in conjunction with its 50 years of establishment as a university (1971-2021) until 2022, intending to appreciate the aspirations of excellence and success of all parties in the development of UPM. - UPM
