SERDANG, 7 Nov –

The stupendous effort placed on her studies while managing a mobile ‘spa’ service to fund her education had finally born fruit as graduate, Iyla Mohd Nor is now successful in both endeavours.

Iyla, 27, received a Bachelor of Science (Human Development) at Universiti Putra Malaysia’s (UPM) 41st Convocation ceremony here.

She ventured into the mobile spa service in 2012 but decided to discontinue when she received an offer to continue her studies in UPM in 2013 as she had wanted to focus on her studies.

"However, in 2014, I felt that it was necessary for me to restart the mobile spa service as part time, which I named Eisswellness Mobile Spa, to help cover the cost of my study," she said.

Through the service, she said, clients place a request for spa treatments and physiotherapy services at their homes via WhatsApp, text messages or phone calls.

"This required me to carefully divide my time between handling the business and studying diligently so as not to miss out on any lessons. Praises to god, today, I have achieved in getting a degree while continuing to provide my spa services," she said.

Iyla, with her business partner, presently is working on another start-up called Green Bridal that offers wedding and bridal decoration services as well as spa packages at Sri Kembangan . - UPM
