‘Rubrik Penaksiran Kemahiran Insaniah’ aids students in the working world

SERDANG, Dec 1 (UPM) - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has published a book titled ‘Rubrik Penaksiran Kemahiran Insaniah’ which was officially launched by the Minister of Education II, Dato' Seri Idris Jusoh at the Great Hall, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Arts and Cultural Centre (PKSSAAS), UPM.

The book, jointly written by UPM Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd Fauzi Ramlan and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (HEPA), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar Sabran, is the first publication in the country that assesses students soft skills achievement.

Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd Fauzi, said soft skills assessment methods should be used to measure students soft skills achievement.



"With this book, it can help students to apply all elements of soft skills in becoming more marketabale and boost their confidence at the time they embark into the working world," he said.

The book which is published by the Student Affairs Division, focuses on the importance of soft skills as well as their applications which enable the students to be more competent and competitive.



He also added that this book is able to provide a positive impact to all readers, especially students and instructors at primary, secondary and tertiary levels.

"This book also provides guidelines to measure students achievement in each element studied for the purpose of continuous improvement," he said.

Among the elements discussed in the book are communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving skills, teamwork skills, lifelong learning, information management, entrepreneurial skills, ethics and professional values, as well as leadership skills.
