SERDANG, 5 Nov - Twin sisters, Nurhaiza Nordin and Nurnaddia shared the joy when each of them was conferred with a PhD in economics at Universiti Putra Malaysia’s 41st Convocation Ceremony, today.

They expressed their gratitude for being able to pursue a PhD in the same field and at the same university as they did not get the opportunity to pursue their studies together at the degree level.

Nurnaddia completed her Bachelor of Economics at UPM while Nurhaiza did her Bachelor of Banking at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

Nurhaiza, the elder sister who works as a lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), was sponsored by UMK while Nurnaddia, a lecturer at International Islamic University College Selangor (KUIS), was sponsored by KUIS.

According to them, as siblings and in order to achieve success together, they helped each other in their studies and were not selfish towards each other.

"We have to work hard and cannot give up easily. As siblings, we must help one another to succeed in life," said the 32 year-old twins. - UPM
