APPOINTMENT OF UPM DEPUTY VICE-CHANCELLOR (STUDENT AFFAIRS AND ALUMNI)

 

SERDANG, Oct 2 - Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu has been appointed as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) for three years, starting from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2023.

His letter of appointment was signed by the Minister of Higher Education, YB. Dato’ Dr. Noraini Ahmad on September 30, 2020.

 

Dato’ Dr. Noraini expressed in the letter of appointment hoping that Prof. Dr. Arifin could provide excellent services to the university.                                                                        Prof. Dr. Arifin replaced Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman who was appointed as the UPM Vice- Chancellor on September 1, 2020. Meanwhile, UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan, mentioned that the appointment of Prof. Dr. Arifin would be able to support the university's goal to produce quality graduates who are marketable as well as to empower UPM students with mastery of soft skills and business skills to improve graduate competencies                                                                  

"The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) and I will fully support the aspirations of the Ministry of Higher Education such as graduate marketability, student entrepreneurship, digitalisation and internationalisation of students. “The portfolio that will be held by Prof. Dr. Arifin is leading the entire administration of the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) as well as the development of university students. He is also responsible for the activities of the Co-curriculum and Student Development Centre, Centre of Entrepreneurial Development and Graduate Marketability, Sports Centre, Alumni Centre, Colleges, Student Police Volunteer Corps (SUKSIS), Reserve Officer Training Unit (PALAPES) and Civil Defense Cadet Corps (KOR SISPSA), ”the Vice-Chancellor added. - UPM
