A total of 3,428 new students of UPM taking the pledge

SERDANG Sept 12- A total of 3,428 new students of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in Semester 1, 2017/2018 recited the new student pledge led by Mohd Azam Mohd Shari at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Arts & Cultural Centre recently.

Mohd Azam represented all new students to hand over the text of the pledge to the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris as a symbol of the ceremony.

Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini urged that the concept of ihsan to be grasped, which means to do each type of job sincerely and efficiently in achieving excellent quality.

‘University students should be confident, proud, ready to face challenges, and should stay away from the influence of terrorists like daesh, drugs and pyramid schemes,’ she said.

Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Dr. Mohd Iqbal Saripan; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Husaini Omar, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman.
