Tan Sri Noor Rashid also inspected a guard-of-honour, led by Commanding Officer, KS Wan Muhamad Faizal from the International Islamic University (UIA) and took the salute from SUKSIS Corp trainees from 19 public universities from all over the country. He also presented prizes to the best trainees from each university.

Year Three student from UPM’s Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, KS Ain Farihah Zulkifli was named UPM Best Overall Trainee.

Meanwhile, the pledge of allegiance was read by UPM SUKSIS Corp Honorary Officer, SUPT/KS Dr. Abdul Razak Abdul Raman.

The presentation of SUKSIS Corp credentials, Best Academic Trainee and Best Outdoor Training trainee was held at Pusat Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah (PKKSSAAS), UPM.

Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, in his speech text read by Tan Sri Noor Rashid, congratulated all trainees, saying that knowledge, skills and experience gained from the training will help them in the long run in overcoming and confronting challenges in their respective careers.

“PDRM is offering career opportunities to all SUKSIS Corp trainees who will soon join the workforce so that they can continue contributing to the team by way of joining the Police Volunteer Reserve (PVR) Unit or applying to be Cadet Inspector.

“I believe that training and exposure to self-discipline and law enforcement which they learned during trainings will make them the best candidates to join PDRM,” he said.

He also reminded SUKSIS Corp trainees to exercise caution and not to be influenced by threats of militancy, including from the Islamic State (IS).

“This militant group targets young people to be recruited as members via the social media such as blogs, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

“Use the best knowledge and experience that you have gained from the world of enforcement and laws as a fortress to barricade you to ward off negative elements such as this,” he added.

Meanwhile, Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini expressed hope for SUKSIS Corp to remain active in producing graduates of quality and who excel not only in academic but also soft skills.

"The theory of civilization proves that the destruction of a country is not caused by outsiders or people from outside the country, but the people of the country itself.

"Therefore, all trainees must uphold the trust and responsibility to continue the country's leadership," she said.

SUKSIS Corps is a police curriculum body set up for students of local universities who must undergo three years of training before they can pass as Police Volunteer Inspector. A brainchild of former Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, it was set up on August 5, 1999 - UPM.
