The campus radio of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) or better known as Putra FM, is the first digital campus radio ever established in a Malaysian public higher education institution. The station transmits within the vicinity of Serdang at the FM90.7 frequency. Listeners can also tune in via online radio streaming. Putra FM is aired from Monday to Friday from 10.00 a.m. until 12.00 midnight.

The radio station has been operating under the supervision of Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) while Selangor FM. RTM also advised on the design, layout and equipment of the Putra FM station during the initial stages. 

One of the significant roles of Putra FM is its role as a training ground for the Bachelor of Communication students, particularly those majoring in broadcasting, to hone their skills. Putra FM emphasises adult learning and therefore tries to integrate educational programmes with information and entertainment. In addition, Putra FM also acts as a channel to broadcast information on research discoveries, apart from being an interactive communication platform between students and the local community.
