KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 – The Chapter Alumni YOSH UPM has collaborated with MyFundAction to organise a gotong-royong (communal work) programme and distributed 3,000 packs of bubur lambuk (rice porridge traditionally served during Ramadan) for Bukit Aman PDRM (Royal Malaysia Police) and the District Police Headquarters (IPD) personnel around Kuala Lumpur at the Bukit Aman Mosque here.
The Sang Saka Biru Bubur Lambuk Distribution Programme from the ‘Special Iftar for Ummah’ project aims to strengthen the relationship between NGOs, civil servants and the community.
A total of 60 volunteers from the Chapter Alumni YOSH UPM, consisting of UPM students and alumni helped cook and pack bubur lambuk into the Special Iftar For Ummah (SIFU) packs.

Director of Sang Saka Biru Bubur Lambuk Distribution Project, Mohd Nazreen Azmi, said 3,000 containers of bubur lambuk were distributed to six district police headquarters (IPD) in Kuala Lumpur, including the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department.
"The six IPDs include Sentul, Dang Wangi, Brickfields, Putrajaya, Cheras, Wangsa Maju and Bukit Aman," he said.
According to the Director of the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Bukit Aman, CP Dato' Sri Azri Ahmad, he felt very proud because the project could develop the personality and cultural refinement of today's young people.
“I believe such efforts can strengthen the relationship between PDRM, the community and non-governmental organisations, and we really need the cooperation of the community to support the efforts in achieving the mission and vision of ensuring the security of the community and the country.
"On behalf of the Inspector-General of Police and the entire PDRM staff, I am very grateful for the charitable effort carried out by MyFundAction together with the youth of YOSH UPM," he said.
Azzam Luqman Rosdi, a student from the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UPM, said the programme was held to enliven Ramadan and as one of the efforts to strengthen the spirit of cooperation between students and frontline officers and the local community.
"We have not been able to carry out gotong-royong activities to prepare bubur lambuk such as this for the past two years due to the enforcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO) as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and today's programme has indeed taught UPM students and me a lot about gratitude and the importance of cooperation," he said. – UPM
