UPM to enforce strict SOP compliance for students

SERDANG, Oct 15 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) implements strict compliance of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for students returning to campus for the 2021/2022 session starting today to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections in campus.

UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, said UPM is now actively preparing to welcome students back to campus by coordinating data of students who are allowed to return after completing two doses of vaccines, students’ movements and residential college preparations.

“As students are returning to campus in stages, learning sessions will be held according to phases to enable UPM to coordinate movement of students in campus,” he said.

He added that under Phase 1, an estimated 4,000 students will be returning to campus.

For Phase 1: Admission for clinical training, teaching training and industrial training students that requires on-campus accommodation, students who need to conduct laboratory work, B40 students who require internet facilities and conducive studying environment, from October 15 to 17, 2021.

Phase 2: Admission of students who need to undergo teaching and learning in labs (lectures will be conducted online – hybrid teaching and learning) from November 3 to 7, 2021.

Phase 3: Full admission of students to campus (except those who have not completed two doses of vaccines). Teaching and learning will be conducted face-to-face and hybrid, subject to strict SOP compliance from December 10, 2021. – UPM
