UPM inks collaborative pact with Ewha Womans University of South Korea

SERDANG, 6 June (UPM) – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and the Seoul-based Ewha Womans University (EWU) signed a collaborative pact here today for the exchange of students and staff, apart from joint research and other training and cultural exchanges.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by UPM Vice Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Fauzi Hj Ramlan and the Dean of the College of Natural Science of Ewha  Womans University, Prof Sung Jin Kim.

It was witnessed by Prof Dr Zainal Abidin Talib, the Dean of the Faculty of Science of UPM and Prof Lee Nam Sook, Head of the Department of Life Science/Division of Ecoscience of EWU.

Among the areas of cooperation under pact are academic programmes for staff exchanges, student exchanges, short-term academic programme, research collaboration and programme for scientific meeting, human resources and capacity building and cultural exchanges.

EWU, a private university, was established in 1886 and is said to be the largest women’s university in the world with an enrollment of more than 19,000 students, including those at the college and post-graduate level. – UPM
