Kuala Lumpur, Oct 7 - UPM Vice-Chancellor, YH. Dato' Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, officiated the closing ceremony of the Malaysian Sports Industry Expo 2022 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium here today.

He said research in the field of Sports Science needs more advances by allocating research grants to local researchers through funds provided by the Ministry.

"The funds given are not only focused on helping the athletes' achievements in sports but can help in terms of producing equipment, clothing and branding local sports to a higher level in line with international brands.

"Athletes at the university can also help create sports goods such as light clothing for running or technological tools such as smart watches made in Malaysia," he said in his closing speech at the expo.

The expo started on October 6 (yesterday) and was filled with various activities such as paper presentations, forum sessions and workshops to discuss the direction of the sports industry. – UPM
