UPM Vice Chancellor Prof. Datuk Dr. Nik Mustapha R. Abdullah received the winning crystal trophy from CEO of Chopard Malaysia, A. B. M. Shah Jahan.
PUTRAJAYA, 1st Nov – University Putra Malaysia has reached another milestone in proving its excellence and the quality of education when announced as the winner of Technology Business Review ASEAN Award 2008 for Excellence in the ASEAN Education Management Sector (Research University).
UPM Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr. Nik Mustapha R. Abdullah received a crystal trophy from the CEO of Chopard, Malaysia, A. B. M. Shah Jahan at the event held here at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
In his speech thanking the panel from the Technology Business Review for choosing the university as the winner, the Vice Chancellor also expressed his utmost appreciation and gratitude to the UPM team for their relentless effort in bringing the quality of research and education of the university to the highest level.
UPM was the sole winner of the Research University category, the category which they have also won last year.
The award, introduced in 2006, is presented to organizations that excelled in upgrading their achievements, innovation, customer satisfaction, human resource management and corporate social responsibility.
This year 25 organisation from 11 corporate sectors, 20 individuals under the leadership category and five Government Linked Companies were also the proud recipients of the same award.
The event was attended by more than one thousand guests from the corporate and public sector and also includes diplomats amongst them were Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Fadhillah Yusof and Deputy Minister of Information Dato’ Tan Lian Hoe.
