University Putra Malaysia golf course (UPM) already develops in 1981 with 9 holes with a view to train agriculture students on grass turf management and to physical education students about golf. It was opened to UPM staff that interested to play golf as one facility recreation in UPM. In addition, 9 holes with a clubhouse already develop in 1994 and this golf course is open to the public. Even so, the membership still limits to University Putra Malaysia staff and student only. Turf Management Unit and University Agricultural Park were responsible to manage and maintain the golf course and providing the facility to all golfers. Meanwhile Uniputra Golfer Club (KPGU) was formed to look after club member interest.
